Could your home be the next hospital room? This study on telemedicine-controlled Hospital at Home (HAH) for acutely ill patients (including COVID-19) shows promising results. HAH significantly reduced the length of stay (LOS) by two days and, remarkably, was associated with a lower risk of death at both 30 days and one year compared to traditional hospital stays. This suggests HAH is a viable, safer, and more efficient model for future acute care.
